Skanska USA Civil was awarded this project from the South Florida Water Management District to construct two pumping stations in Palm Beach County, Florida. The scope of work included construction of the pumping station substructure and superstructure, installation of pumps, diesel engine drive units and right angle gear reducers furnished by the District.

The installation of contractor furnished mechanical equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation and controls, levee and canal construction adjacent to the pumping station and all associated civil works were also included in this contract.

Other structural work called for in this contract included the concrete substructures, a fully enclosed building for the equipment of structural steel framing with pre-cast concrete panels, once access bridge, a fuel storage area with containment and a sanitary facility. The contract also encompassed construction of the pumping station approach and discharge canals.
