Typically, our work on mechanical projects encompasses procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of equipment. Skanska USA Civil recently completed construction of a fan plant for New York City Transit to replace one damaged in the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and one for Amtrak in Weehawken, NJ. As part of the 63rd Street/Queens Boulevard Tunnel Connection, Skanska USA Civil built what is perhaps one of the largest fan plants in New York City Transit’s system. After having successfully constructed that facility as well as a ventilation facility at Lenox Avenue, Skanska USA Civil is quickly building a reputation as the areas foremost constructor of such facilities.
These projects were constructed in locations that could pose logistical challenges for any contractor. However, Skanska USA Civl has a long, rich history of successfully completing technically complex assignments under difficult conditions.
